MITRE Bedford 2M – Phase 1
Advanced Fiber + Security Cabling Across 10,200 Sq. Ft.
As a continuation of Phase 0, Netcom executed MITRE’s Bedford 2M Phase 1 upgrade—covering 10,200 sq. ft. of classified workspace, replacing all legacy cabling, and delivering a fully modern, high-density fiber and copper system.
Project Components
The installation included:
421 OM4 multimode fiber runs (classified & unclassified)
Secure surface raceway for workstations
LC splice termination for all fibers
High-density fiber termination in new equipment cabinets
84 security devices requiring specialized cabling
24 Cat6A shielded cables for rack-to-rack equipment interconnectivity
Cat6A shielded cabling for 27 AV monitor locations
Backbone fiber enhancements included new 12- and 24-strand OM4 multimode and 12-strand single-mode fiber between telecom and server rooms.
Telecom rooms were fully modernized with:
19” racks and vertical managers
45RU locking cabinets with badge authentication
